Spaghetti on the Wall

Today and Eternity

Suddenly and surprisingly, multiscale planning is clicking for me. Not sure how this happened.

I think I had a realization of, "These things are Important to me, but they are not going to be finished Today. Where can I hold on to them? Ah, at longer timescales can I hold on to them."

But at the same time, "If I only think at longer timescales, nothing gets done Today. A journey of a thousand miles is made of individual steps. What are today's steps?"

Maybe my error before was in trying to build from small to large. Daily, then weekly, then monthly, and so on. But weekly is not merely a larger scope of daily.

The Conflict Within that I needed to resolve was Today vs Eternity. I was lost in the minutiae of Today, and always losing the threads of Eternity. Eternity is not merely the matured form of Today. Eternity is Axiomatic and Primordial, just as This Moment is Axiomatic and Primordial. They are Polar Opposites, and between them they Create the experience of Time.

So the solution was to come from the extremes and meet in the middle.
